Hawai'i: Bar 35

We spent most of our first couple of days close to the hotel in the tourist-centric Waikiki Beach area, But we did get out of there to chill a bit further afield.

We went out to Chinatown to Bar 35. It's a great beer bar with hundreds of beers available, local and otherwise but is more club than geek fest.

We got there relatively early for a Saturday night and hung out for a few hours. The staff was very friendly and the DJ entertained us for hours playing great music that kept us running back to Shazam to identify. Tammi's highlight was hearing a blend of Fela with Queen's "Another one bites the dust" from an album called Afrodesiac. For me it was taking it back to Aesha by Another Bad Creation and then Poison by Bel Biv DeVoe. Madness.

I also sampled a number of local and regional beers that I'll definitely want to track down again. Bar 35 is a must return for our last couple days here at the end of the trip. There's supposed to be some "House of Brews" events happening during the week that I'd like to partake in.
