NC: Breakfast at Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen
I'm not usually a breakfast eater, but while I was in Chapel Hill, my aunt told me how much her students love it when she brings in biscuits from Sunrise Biscuit Kitchen. I was curious. After a bit of Googling, I found a post about it on Serious Eats and I was ready to go right away.
After it was all done, my only regret was not going every day I was there. Check it out after the jump.
Sunrise is a drive-through only place, a reminder that this is not the pedestrian-friendly land I know and love. But, I had a ride, so I was fine. I ordered a chicken biscuit and a country ham and egg biscuit. When I go back again (and again and again) I have got to try a pork chop (!) or on a biscuit - with eggs no less. That's not to mention all the other potential toppings, like steak or sausage.

This is the chicken biscuit. The biscuit itself is buttery and fluffy and delicious. I was immediately glad I ordered two. Besides being rather tasty, they aren't huge and I finished mine in a few bites.
The chicken was small, but plump and meaty in just the way a good chicken sandwich should be.
The country ham & egg was wonderful. The ham was salty, the eggs fluffy, there wasn't as much to it as the chicken, but again, having two left me satisfied even though a third would have been awesome - if unnecessary.
