DC: Central Michel Richard

_MG_4356 - Version 2

After our delayed arrival into DC on the Bolt Bus, we cabbed it over to dinner at Central Michel Richard. Eric recommended it after a dinner he'd had at the chef's high end place, Citronelle. He specifically said that the burger was supposed to be fantastic. But these days, that doesn't tell you anything about the rest of the cuisine.

We bypassed that this time, in favor of Oysters, Hanger Steak au Poivre and Braised Beef Cheeks. It was a great meal for decompressing after folding ourselves up to fit in the damned bus.

The food was great, but the winner of the evening -by far- was the Onion Carbonara that came with Tammi's Steak au Poivre. It was mild, softened onions, tossed in eggs, topped with crushed pepper and lardons of bacon. Brilliant.
